Heat Vision is reporting that Maiara Walsh has landed the lead role in Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer's The Hunger Games parody The Starving Games. Friedberg and Seltzer are the duo behind Date Movie, Meet the Spartans and Vampires Suck. The parodies won't be limited to the world of Suzanne Collins' Panem but will, instead, incorporate other recent big screen hits like Marvel's The Avengers, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Walsh will play the lead, a character named Kantmiss Evershot. "Pretty Little Liars" actor Brant Daugherty will play the spoof version of Gale.
Shooting on The Starving Games begins this week in New Orleans.
Walsh's TV credits include "Switched at Birth," "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," "The Vampire Diaries" and "Desperate Housewives."
