Two of the highest-buzz shows on television will be back for third seasons. Fox announced a renewal Monday for “X Factor” and Showtime renewed “Homeland.”
Fox said “X Factor” has righted its ship after a rocky first season that ended with two judges and the host fired. Viewership was down about a third at the start of this season, which is just moving into the first live episodes.
“Homeland” is four episodes into its second season and coming off an Emmy sweep in which the show won Best Drama. Claire Danes was named Best Actress and Damian Lewis won the Best Actor award.
Danes is expecting her first child, but said in August she will be back when shooting begins in the spring.
