Ann Romney made Welsh cakes, not news, on Wednesday as she wooed morning show audiences for her husband's campaign with a guest host spot on ABC's "Good Morning America."
"After raising five boys, I'm ready for anything that’s thrown my way,” she declared in a taped segment introducing the Republican candidate’s wife onto the show.
Romney began her guest host stint in the "GMA" studio kitchen, where she shared a family tradition by making Welsh cakes.
The potential First Lady flipped cakes on a griddle wearing a red wrap dress reminiscent of the Oscar de la Renta shirtdress she wore when giving her Republican convention speech this summer.
She then helped George Stephanopoulos interview the latest ousted contestants of "Dancing With the Stars," Drew Lachey and Helio Castroneves.
"How did you like your score on the cha-cha?" she asked Lachey, who replied it was "frustrating."
Later, she stood in Times Square in the drizzling rain for a segment with Paralympic equestrian Becca Hart and her horse, Lord Ludger, or LoLu.
Hart, who has a genetic disease that degrades her lower body muscles, said riding has helped keep her mobile.
“Without it, I would probably be in a wheelchair,” she said.
Romney also shared how horse therapy helped her get through a difficult period after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

“I was very, very weak and very worried about my life,” Romney said. She added that her life has been “dramatically different” since she started riding.
She also joined GMA's other hosts for a cooking segment with actor Stanley Tucci, which was almost derailed when some butter caught on fire.
Romney laughed that it was just the latest in her series of recent fire-related mishaps.
"My plane almost goes down, I almost catch on fire," she said with a laugh, referring to her private plane’s emergency landing last month.

Ann Romney wore a red wrap dress reminiscent of the Oscar de la Renta shirtdress she wore when giving her Republican convention speech.
She didn't sit in on a segment with the less family-friendly “Jersey Shore” cast, despite her husband's comment on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" last month that he's "kind of a Snooki fan."
"Just her sparkplug personality is kind of fun," the candidate said at the time.
Snooki had skipped the "GMA" appearance herself to be at home with her infant son, Lorenzo.
Overall, Romney was kept at arm's length from the news and any potentially controversial topics.
She wasn't at the anchor desk for the latest headlines about last month’s deadly attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya.
ABC News reported that a former security officer at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli has told congressional investigators that security at the Benghazi diplomatic post was “inappropriatedly low.”
The report is likely to be the subject of fresh attacks on President Obama by Mitt Romney.
There was also no talk of weatherman Sam Champion's recent announcement that he plans to marry his longtime boyfriend Rubem Robierb. Mitt Romney opposes gay marriage.
Inviting political figures to co-host appears to be a growing trend at the morning shows.
Sarah Palin co-hosted NBC's rival "Today" show in April.
"GMA" has said it is also trying to book First Lady Michelle Obama to guest host.
Regular host Robin Roberts received a bone marrow transplant last month to treat MDS, a bone marrow disorder that affects blood cell production.
