Hale Storm threatens to rain down fury on dead beats

You’ve been warned, deadbeats.

Eccentric antiques collector Hale Storm, 58, will go from picking up rare signs to snatching up debt from swindlers in a new reality series “Dead Beat Busters.”

“It’s a mix of ‘Help Me Howard,’ ‘Shame Shame Shame’ and ‘Judge Judy,’” said Storm, who grew up in Kew Gardens and has recently been filming the show in Queens and Long Island. “The bottom line is people need to pay up.”

Storm previously brought his dumpster-diving antics to the Science Channel with “JUNKies,” which chronicled his junkyard adventures.

He thought up his new show, which a production company is currently shopping around in hopes of being picked up for broadcast, with revenge in mind.

“I’ve probably lost a half-million dollars in the forty years I’ve had my sign business,” he said of his company, Freeport Signs and Rigging. “People look for any excuse not to pay you. I know I’m not alone and it has to end.”

The show follows Storm and his motley crew — which includes two “tough guys” — as they collect debt from non-paying scoundrels.

“You have employers or other people who unfairly refuse to pay and our job is to go and stick up for the underdog,” Storm said.

Storm said his team will drive around in a hearse with the license plate “Payupnow” in hopes of drawing attention.

“People who owe the money will notice a hearse and they’ll want us to leave,” he said. “But we won’t leave until they pay up.”

Storm invites anyone who has an employer, spouse or friend who owes them money to contact his team at deadbeatbusters.com.

“We will take care of it,” Storm said.

Spin the Bottle, a New York City-based production company, found Storm’s quirky persona perfect for a reality show.

“He’s just the type of over-the-top character who can make a difference in people’s lives,” said Tad Low, 46, who owns the production company and has been trying to shop the show around.

“He’s like ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter,’” Low said. “He’s an interesting guy.”
