Melissa Rycroft hospitalized after suffering head injury on 'Dancing With the Stars' set

No one ever said ballroom dancing was free of danger.

"Dancing With the Stars" stunner Melissa Rycroft was rushed to the hospital Sunday afternoon after sustaining head and neck injuries during practice, People magazine reports.

The former "Bachelor" contestant, who has once again teamed up with partner Tony Dovolani for her spin on the dance floor, was doing camera blocking for Monday's show when she fell and injured her head and neck, according to the magazine.

"Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined," Rycroft's rep told People in a statment. "She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband, Tye Strickland, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani.

"Everyone is taking all necessary precautions at this time."

Injuries on the "Dancing" set are not uncommon, but Dovolani is concerned that the former reality star's trip to the hospital could be more serious.

"Really concerned about @MelissaRycroft," he tweeted late Sunday night. "We don't know if we are dancing tomorrow !!!!! Please keep us in your prayers."

Rycroft, 29, has showcased her bubbly personality and determined spirit throughout the first few weeks of the show's competition, earning praise from the judges for her clean footwork and enthusiastic delivery.

"You have such a way of making everything look effortless," judge Carrie Ann Inaba gushed after Rycroft's jitterbug last week.

There is no word yet on whether Rycroft will join her fellow remaining seven competitors on the dance floor Monday night, though Gossip Cop confirmed that she has since been released from the hospital.
