Hitting theaters this Friday, writer/director Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths marks the artist's second feature film, following 2008's In Bruges. Re-teaming him with leading man Colin Farrell, McDonagh offers what, on the surface, plays as an action-packed crime comedy while at the same time breaks down and explores conventions of cinematic violence. In the film, Farrell stars as Marty, a struggling screenwriter who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends (Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell) kidnap a gangster's (Woody Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu, Bonny.
